Travis Darghali(He/Him): Arab. Hunkalicious. Sweetheart.

Travis is a first generation Arab-American (Syrian) from Michigan, now based in Harlem, NYC. Travis’s most recent credits include: Ogunquit Playhouse’s Come From Away, directed by Richard J. Hinds, The Lazours We Live in Cairo at the New York Theatre Workshop, the viral Godspell (In a pool!) at Flint Repertory Theatre and the titular role in Aladdin, A Musical Spectacular on the Disney Wish! Travis’s love of performing started at the ripe age of 16. After lots of convincing from friends and his choir director, Travis joined his first musical in high school. He went from idolizing Michael Jordan, to Mandy Patinkin!

Travis found a whole new beast in theatre and fell in love with the all too familiar adrenaline and emotion that comes with the stage, and the rest was history. Offstage, you can find Travis playing pickleball at the Hudson River Park, crafting new Cold Brew concoction to fuel his workouts in the gym, and reading at his local public library.

WOW. Doesn’t he sound wonderful?…

Now, after crushing his parents’ dream of him becoming a neurosurgeon, Travis has had the pleasure of working amongst wonderful directors and actors such as award winning director Taibi Magar (We Live in Cairo), Richard J Hinds (Ogunquit Playhouse’s Come From Away), Rachel M. Stevens (Oakland University), and Josh Young (Oakland University), Ali Louis Bourzgui (We Live in Cairo) and Mary Kate Morrisey (Ogunquit Playhouse’s Come From Away).

As a professional Arab performer, the most underrepresented group in Theatre, Travis looks to blaze a trail for Arab representation in all forms of media. As an activist , he looks to influence the perceived notion that Arabs have in the public eye and show that Arabs are a people of community, sharing, love and most importantly humanity.
